The Modern Rugged Lifetime Warranty

We build our leather goods to be carried, used, and traveled with. Modern Rugged provides lifetime coverage against defects in stitching and hardware for the usable life of the leather.

Coverage stays with the product, even when ownership changes.

What We Cover

Our warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship affecting:

  • Stitching and structural seams

  • Rivets and structural fasteners

  • Buckles, D-rings, hooks, snaps, and other hardware

  • Zippers and zipper hardware

  • The stitching, hardware, and reinforced attachment points securing handles and straps

Coverage applies to failures under normal use. It does not mean every part of the product is protected against wear or damage indefinitely.

Repair or Replacement

We review each claim to determine whether the issue is covered.

For an accepted claim, we may repair the product or replace the affected component at our discretion. If a reasonable repair is not possible, we will work with you on an appropriate replacement.

Please contact us before sending your item. We will confirm whether it needs to be returned and provide instructions.

What Isn’t Covered

Leather changes with use. Scratches, scuffs, creases, softening, stretching, color changes, natural grain variations, and patina are not, by themselves, manufacturing defects.

The warranty does not cover normal wear or damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper care, unauthorized alterations or repairs, or excessive exposure to water or chemicals.

Coverage lasts for the usable life of the leather. It does not require replacement of leather that has worn out through ordinary use.

Making a Warranty Claim

Email customerservice@modernrugged.com with:

  • A description of the problem

  • Clear photos of the affected area and the complete product

  • Your order information, if available

  • Your current contact information

If the product was a gift or changed ownership, let us know. Coverage follows the product, and we will review the information available.

Warranty Shipping Costs

If we require the item to be returned for review, repair, or replacement, you are responsible for shipping it to Modern Rugged.

A $5 shipping fee applies when a warranty replacement is sent to a United States address. International replacement shipping fees vary by destination and will be confirmed during the claim process.

If your item will be repaired and returned, we will confirm any applicable return shipping charge before you send it.

Free shipping on new United States orders is separate from warranty shipping.
